“With persistence, collaboration, and a tailored plan, we can transform GRT-infested land into thriving pastures and vibrant landscapes. ”

Welcome to GrassForce Giant Rats Tail Resources

GrassForce is actively engaged in ongoing research and development to improve management of Giant Rat’s Tail (GRT) grass across the Moreton Bay and South East Queensland regions. We are working in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (DAF), the Department of Primary Industries (DPI), local governments, and community associations to evolve and refine treatment protocols that are effective, practical, and aligned with landholder needs.

  • Free Resources: Access guides and links to DAF (www.daf.qld.gov.au), MBRC (www.moretonbay.qld.gov.au), and PRCA (www.prca.org.au) at www.grassforce.com.au.
  • Tailored Planning: Grassforce develops customized GRT management plans or refers you to regional experts, coordinating with MBRC, DAF, and catchment associations.
  • Contractor Services: Our GPS-guided herbicide and fertilizer applications reduce chemical and fertiliser use by 10–20%, ensuring precise treatment and GBO compliance.

Community Education: Through partnerships with PRCA and Upper South Pine and Cedar Creek Catchment Association, we offer workshops and field days to build collective action.

Stony Creek Success

At a 40-acre property near Woodford, a landholder reduced GRT from near-complete coverage to minimal presence over years, using professional spraying, seeding, and cultivation. This restored pastures, supporting 20–60 cattle. Such results require expert planning—contact Grassforce to achieve similar outcomes.
